Our beginnings.
Colby Metal was founded in 1986 with five metal fabricators working one shift, producing our own marketed product line including metal furniture components and seating products.
Focusing on the customer.
Our unique vision to both focus on end-user expectations and differentiate ourselves with our attention to detail and quality fueled consistent growth in the 1990's. We now employ over 50 dedicated team players on two full shifts, including a full time maintenance department and quality control management staff. Located in Colby Wisconsin, our facility has grown to an impressive 49,000 square feet with 17,000 square feet added in 2007. Our facility includes a state-of-the-art, start-to-finish powder coating system to make us a leading one stop shop for sheet metal fabrication and finishing.

We proudly serve a diverse customer base throughout the upper Midwest, in healthcare environments, vehicle electronics assemblies, fitness exercise equipment, library furnishings, automotive service, sporting goods and various agricultural equipment.
Technology provides growth opportunities
In 1996 we purchased our first CNC equipment and 5 years later, a 2500 watt laser.
This technology fueled further growth and in 2005 we added a 3000 watt Salvagnini L2, the first in the state of Wisconsin.
Our welding capability was enhanced in 2006 with a Robotic welder.
